Choose a burner designed for your heat source. Use charcoal only in a charcoal-compatible incense burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface. For electric burners, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Using charcoal tongs, light the charcoal tablet according to its packaging and let it finish lighting and develop a grey ash coating before adding fragrance.
Start with a small piece of oud or a small pinch of bakhoor. Follow the product and burner instructions, and use less if the fragrance or smoke feels too strong.
Keep the area well ventilated. Charcoal produces carbon monoxide, so never use it in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. Avoid inhaling smoke directly and stop use if it causes discomfort.
Never leave a lit burner unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and flammable materials, and don’t move it while hot. Explore our Bakhoor Burner Sets and check its instructions for compatible use.
Allow the charcoal, ash and burner to cool completely before handling or disposal. Never put hot embers or ash into a bin.
