About the Book
The map changing leader of Islam, Al- FAROOQ, Hazrat Umar bin Khattaab Radiallahu Anhu wrote to the people of Kufa instructing them,
"Teach your women Surah Noor!"
Nothing more needs to be said about the importance of this Surah, knowing that Hazrat Umar the Great, Radiallahu Anhu, the sahabi whose views have been considered by Allah Ta'aala Himself, deemed it important for women to learn this Surah.
This Surah is specifically aimed at women as it deals with issues that are close to a woman's heart, such as protecting the diamond within her, her chastity, covering her precious body, laws pertaining to the veil (hijab and niqaab), lowering the gaze, the consequences of not valuing herself, succumbing to carnal passions, and illuminating her body, heart, mind and soul with purity thereby swimming deep in the oceans of the Light of Allah Ta'aala.
A woman is the fresh breeze on a summer day, the first drop of snow in winter, the glistening dewdrop on a leaf in spring, the striking, falling, red leaves of autumn, the charm of Layla, the love of Majnoon. Her walk, her talk, her smile, her very being exudes elegance and attracts admiration. There is therefore no doubt as to why Shaytaan uses women as nets to lure even the wisest and most religious of men. This is why women are strongly encouraged to learn and study this Surah. She is the backbone of a spiritual, enlightened society. Alas, if she loses her self-worth, generations of humanity suffer! And if she acquires purity and piety, generations prosper!
