How is your heart?
This organ is a subtle creation of our Rabb, it is the seat of our faith and the only thing of true worth we will take with us to Allah.
Yet how much time do we take to understand, nourish and protect it? Do we know what hinders and helps it?
In My Dear Heart, Dr. Haifaa draws on timeless wisdom from the Qur’an and sunnah and her own experiences to help you care for your heart.
The thirty chapters accompany you on a journey of discovering what dwells in your heart and what affects its different states.
My Dear Heart is an invitation to pause and reflect on the sicknesses that harm/tarnish it and the cures to restore its health on the path to achieving a sound heart, a qalbun saleem.
In a world full of distractions and noise, this book brings our focus back to what matters; a heart that is close to Allah, at peace and pleasing to Him.
One of the most beautiful portions of the Qur’an describes a detailed manual for how a believer should live their life. How one becomes Ibadur Rahman, the servant of the most Merciful. It encompasses multiple elements and dimensions of worship, family life, character, reflection, and living as a community. These key qualities, if properly implemented in our lives, will allow us to become the true servants that we should all aspire to become.
This book will take you on that journey to identify and implement those qualities in your life, solely for the pleasure of Allah.
People sometimes say, “I will see you on the other side.” But how certain can one be of this other plane of existence? Where exactly is that “other side”, and how can you be sure you will reach it? Everything begins with a fundamental truth: those whom we have buried from our loved ones are not truly dead. They have merely passed into a special realm known as the Barzakh, a stage of existence between this life and the Hereafter. In that world, the souls of the deceased continue to live: some in peace, others in torment. The souls of martyrs may dwell in the bodies of green birds, flying freely in Paradise, while others may suffer and drown in rivers of blood. Some are reunited with long-deceased loved ones in beautiful homes, while others are subject to terrifying punishment at the hand of the Angels. What is this realm? Who resides within it? And how does knowledge of this world affect the understanding of our current location? To reflect on the Barzakh is to reflect on our ultimate return to Allah and to reconsider the spiritual path we are on today in a world that is plagued with injustice and confusion.

Imam al-Ḥaddād said about this book: The book Īḍāḥ Asrār ʿUlūm al-Muqarrabīn (A Clarification of the Secrets Known to Those Drawn Near to Allah) is the distilled essence of Sufism. If one wanted to explain its title alone, one would need volumes. How much more so, then, for the profound sciences and secrets it contains? This work was ever-present in Imam al-Ḥaddād’s gatherings, constantly read and studied. Whenever one reading was completed, another would begin.

“What has he found who has lost God? And what has he lost who has found God?” – Ibn Atta Allah Al-IskandariAuthor Ahmad Javid’s book ‘Sufi Prayer and Love’ is a deeply personal and enriching discourse on prayer and love for the almighty. It explains in great detail the intimate talk you should have in your life with God, this is also known as Salat (prayer). This prayer is a separate divine language on its own and will bring you closer to the Almighty. This is the kind of book that should appeal to a lot of people because at its heart lies an intelligent discussion on prayer - the right kind of prayers and the power it gives you in life. And Muslims especially should find this book as a great guide that extols the virtue of prayer and love for Allah. Most of us do pray but when our prayers remain unanswered we often wonder where we went wrong. It doesn’t exactly teach you how to pray but it explains in great detail what a prayer should be. Through simple stories and descriptions you will understand how to communicate with God better. The book doesn’t limit itself to mere explanations of the various rituals we follow as part of our prayers, but it explains the meaning and purpose behind every word and action. It is said that you cannot teach Salat or prayer to someone as it is a personal and internal process. But the author here has managed to do just that through careful selection of texts showcased through the three parts in the book. And the Arabic recitations included in the book give off positive spiritual vibes. It makes the process of prayer an enriching experience than an event that you are simply going through the motions of.The language used is wonderful and I had no trouble in following the book. The English and the Arabic words, mostly used in brackets combine together to make this a great read. As a non Muslim myself, I appreciate the fact that I got immediate translations of words and phrases that I have often heard in relation to the Islamic faith.I don’t have any major grouses with the book, but at certain places I did wish the book had footnotes to give a more detailed history about certain items mentioned in the passages. Though the language used and the sentence structuring is contemporary, it has its own poetic feel. But if you are looking for a genuine Arabic poetic rendering, that you won’t find it here. The introduction given by the author was an honest piece of writing and my heart went out to him that he was able to make such a divine connection with the almighty. I would highly recommend this book to my Muslim brothers and sisters who think that they already know enough about their religion and faith. Reading this book should give you a different perspective and bring you in harmony with God.
