Ummah Heart

We welcome you to the beginning of a journey that transcends time.

The Ummah Heart Academy seeks to enrich hearts with the love of seeking knowledge. Treading upon the example of the ummahaat-ul- mu’mineen (believing mothers), we desire to establish a bond between servant and slave.

The academy is built upon the expertise of Islamic knowledge and psychology. Intertwined with these fundamentals are aspects of self-development and interaction. For verily, “He who knows himself, Knows his Lord” {Yahya bun Muaadh Arrazi R.A.}

The lessons are ones that delve into the finer intricacies of daily life,  coupled with the relevance of qur’anic and Sunnah practices. The aim is to kindle a love for not only the religion of Islam but for fellow sisters who gain knowledge beside you.

We believe in the sentiment that knowledge of the self is an imperative when it comes to understanding deen. And so we introduce a diverse range of life coaches and inspirational speakers to help in elevating levels of self-esteem, self-understanding and self-development. Also important to know our belief structure which is founded on Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’ah and we mainly cater for the Hanafi fiqh school of thought as all our Asaatitha are qualified in this regard.

So once again, marhaba to you, and we wish that a title as lofty as ummahaat-ul- mu’mineen (believing mothers), can be something we work towards being a part of. With love in our hearts, and faith in our souls, we begin the journey of those on the path of seeking knowledge and we hope for you to be beside us.

May Allah Ta’ala reward the author abundantly and fill his grave with noor for having prepared such a masterpiece on the mubaarak life of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Hijab: A Comprehensive Introduction. A comprehensive analysis of the various levels of hijab (female concealment), including the issue of niqab (face covering): From the Qur'an, Hadith & Fiqh.  Mufti Taqi Usmani writes: “Books on the topic of women’s veiling and unveiling have proliferated in our time. The best I have seen on the subject is a monograph by my late father, Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Shafi‘ (Allah have mercy on him), called Tafsil al-Khitab fi Ayat al-Hijab, which forms part of his Ahkam al-Qur’an. In it, he conducted a thorough examination of the verses and hadiths on the subject and elaborated on the views of the jurists and the commentaries of the exegetes about the boundaries and method of hijab. (Takmilah Fath al-Mulhim, 4:153) This annotated translation of Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Shafi‘’s seminal work is supplemented by three appendices on the following important topics by Mufti Zameelur Rahman: women’s attendance at the masjid for prayer; travelling without a mahram; and the intermingling of genders.An extensive biography of Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Shafi‘ has also been added, drawing primarily from Hayat-i-Mufti-i-A‘zam by Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani (1936 – 2022 CE) and other reputable sources. Oh Son! Imam Al Ghazali

    Author: Imam al-Ghazali Language: English & Arabic Binding: Paperback Pages: 100 pages Color: Black and White ISBN: 978-1-952306-03-7 Publisher: Imam Ghazali Publishing This book is a new translation of Imam al-Ghazali’s Adab fi al-Din, a concise yet thorough guide to proper Islamic conduct and character in a wide range of life situations. While numerous works discuss adab – translated here as “etiquette and manners” – this text stands out for its practical approach, structured in the manner of a handbook for quick and easy reference when the need appears. Al-Ghazali begins by outlining the essential principles that govern all interactions with other people and with oneself, and which every Muslim should strive to embody and cultivate within his or her life. He then proceeds to a discussion of adab with Allah, as the relationship with the Creator is at the heart of a Muslim’s character. The Imam details how one may cultivate reverence, humility, and mindfulness in this relationship, and provides practical advice regarding how to consistently remember Allāh, fulfill His commands, and show patience during life’s challenges. The core of the book is a sort of practical manual of adab, and includes sections on such everyday issues as: The Adab of the Scholar, Student, Reciter of the Qur’an, Muhaddith, Khatib, and many other roles related to worship and seeking knowledge Adab of fasting, eating, drinking, giving and receiving charity, giving and receiving gifts, and of being wealthy or poor Adab of sleep, waking, being in public and in social gatherings, and other ordinary life situations Adab of husbands and wives, parents and children, and other relationships Adab of some common professions Most individual sections occupy no more than one page, with some requiring only a short paragraph to cover the essential issues that guide one’s approach to each scenario. The book then concludes with a discussion of universal adab, a general discussion that applies to many disparate areas of life. Regarding the sources of our knowledge of adab, as well as its significance in the life of a believer, the Imam writes: The most perfect and lofty character as well as the best and most splendid of actions is to have adab [good manners] as [explained by] the religion. It is for the believer to emulate the actions of the Lord of the Worlds, as well as the character of the prophets and messengers. Allah, the most High, has refined our manners through His exposition of the Quran as well as through His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by commanding us to [adhere to] his sunna. [We owe Him] for this benevolence. He has also refined our manners through the companions, their successors, as well as the people of adab from amongst the believers, by obligating us to emulate them. This is a text that the reader will want to keep within easy reach, and consult regularly for guidance on the many and varied situations that occur in one’s life.

    A Life With The Divine

    Tradesmen look at buildings differently, depending on their trade: The carpenter casts an eye on the woodwork, the bricklayer on the brickwork and the painter on the walls and ceilings. Similarly, the greater a person’s perception of Allah’s names, the greater their alertness and understanding of life. Nothing passes them by, without thought and contemplation. When they see a display of mercy, they automatically and very naturally reflect on the names of Allah; Al-Rahim” (The Most Merciful), Al-Ra’uf (The Pitying), Al-Wadud (The Affectionate). When they sense might and awe, they are overcome with the names “Al-Jabbar” (The Compeller), “Al-Muntaqim” (The Avenger) and “Al-Qahhar” (The Subduer). Eventually, they reach a station where every scene that unfolds, any sin which presents itself or any opportunity that drifts by, becomes a trigger for perusal and the remembrance of Allah, the achievement of which is precisely the objective of this book.

    Sea Without Shore

    Sea Without Shore is a practical manual for those travelling the path of Sufism or Islamic mysticism, which strives, in Junayd’s words, “to separate the Beginninglessly Eternal from that which originates in time,” in a word, to be with the Divine without any relation. The book opens with narratives of five Sufis met by the author in Syria, Jordan, and Turkey whose lives exemplified the knowledge and practice of the Sufi path. The second part is a complete handbook of the method and rule of the Shadhili order of Sufism, transmitted to the author by his spiritual mentor, Sheikh ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Shaghouri–from devotions, dhikr or ‘invocation,’ and metaphysical doctrine, to how a Sufi lives, marries, and earns a living in the modern world. A third part treats wider theological questions such as other faiths and mysticisms, universalism and the finality of Islam, the promise of God to Jews and Christians, evolution and religion, and divine Wisdom and Justice in the face of human suffering. The book provides an indelible portrait of a vibrant mystical tradition spanning seven and a half centuries of endeavor to know the Divine face-to-face. Sheikh Nuh Keller was born in the US in 1954. He read philosophy and classical Arabic at the University of Chicago and UCLA, and became a Muslim in Cairo in 1977. He was authorized as a sheikh in the Shadhili order by Sheikh ‘Abd al-Rahman in 1996 and is the leading authority on traditional Islam in the West. He has studied jurisprudence, hadith, and other subjects with traditional scholars, produced Reliance of the Traveller, the 1st translation of a standard Islamic legal reference in a English to be certified by al-Azhar, the Muslim world’s oldest institution of higher learning. Among his other works and translations are Sufism in Islam, al-Maqasid: Imam Nawawi’s Manual of Islam, Port in a Storm, and an illuminated calligraphic edition of Dala’il al-Khayrat

  • Salaah Of Women in the Light of the Sunnah

    Salaah Of Women in the Light of the Sunnah

    The four Imaams of Fiqh unanimously agree that a female’s salaah should be more concealed compared to that of a male’s salaah. Therefore, they all agree that a woman’s posture of sitting will be different to that of a man. As for her clothing, there is no difference of opinion regarding the compulsion of a woman covering her entire body. Similarly, it was the wish and desire of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) that women perform their salaah at home ,as is evident from the Ahaadith. This is also unanimously agreed upon by the four Imaams. Presently, there is much vice and evil that come about on account of women attending the salaah in the musjids. In light of this, a kitaab has been prepared in a very positive manner, substantiated by Ahaadith and statements of the Sahaabah and Taabi’een. InshaAllah, people will benefit from it tremendously.   pages 121

    The Laws of Janaazah

    Death is an inevitable event which no man can escape. As such, the reality of death is something which is accepted by both the believer and disbeliever. As far as a disbeliever is concerned, he views death as a terminating point which brings an abrupt end to his existence. As for a believer, he does not consider death to be the end of life. Instead, he considers it to be the beginning of the second phase of the journey towards his ultimate abode – the Hereafter. When a person has passed away, he becomes a lifeless body in the hands of others. They do with him as they wish. However, now that he is unable to do anything for himself, it is his right upon his near and dear ones, as well as those close to him, that all his matters pertaining to his last moments of life, as well as his ghusal, kafan, burial, winding of his estate and every other aspect relating to his death and after-death, be managed and undertaken in the most perfect way – the way of the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). This book is a compilation of various laws which pertain to the person who is terminally ill, in his final illness or in his final stages, the masaa-il of ghusal, kafan, janaazah, etc. Every Muslim must equip himself with these relevant laws and masaa-il so that the correct procedure could be adopted upon the demise of any person. To neglect the laws of Deen and the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) at this critical time in a person’s journey to the Hereafter is indeed an injustice to the marhoom.
