Death is an inevitable event which no man can escape. As such, the reality of death is something which is accepted by both the believer and disbeliever. This book is a compilation of various laws which pertain to the person who is terminally ill, in his final illness or in his final stages, the masaa-il of ghusal, kafan, janaazah, etc. Every Muslim must equip himself with these relevant laws and masaa-il so that the correct procedure could be adopted upon the demise of any person.
To neglect the laws of Deen and the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) at this critical time in a person’s journey to the Hereafter is indeed an injustice to the marhoom.

Indeed, losing one’s father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister or any other family member or close friend, is very challenging. This loss can completely devastate a person and makes the entire world around him seem dark and gloomy. Just as in every other situation of life – in this situation as well, our beautiful Deen gives us ample solace, comfort, relief and direction to make it easy for us to manage this painful loss and sail through this raging storm safely. Therefore, we write this message to you – O brother that has lost your beloved wife, to you – O sister that has lost your kind husband, to you – O child who has lost your loving parent, to you O parent who has lost a loved one, we hope this msg will prove beneficial in lifting your morale and spirits and assist you to manage and cope with your tragic loss..
Imam Al-Ghazali (may God’s mercy be on him) wrote in his book The Beginning of Guidance:
You should not neglect your time or use it haphazardly; on the contrary you should bring yourself to account, structure your litanies and other practices during each day and night, and assign to each period a fixed and specific function. This is how to bring out the spiritual blessing (baraka) in each period. But if you leave yourself adrift, aimlessly wandering as cattle do, not knowing how to occupy yourself at every moment, your time will be lost. It is nothing other than your life, and your life is the capital that you make use of to reach perpetual felicity in the proximity of God the Exalted. Each of your breaths is a priceless jewel, since each of them is irreplaceable and, one gone, can never be retrieved. Do not be like the deceived fools who are joyous because each day their wealth increases while their life shortens. What good is an increase in wealth when life grows ever shorter? Therefore be joyous only for an increase in knowledge or in good works, for they are your two companions who will accompany you in your grave when your family, wealth, children, and friends stay behind.
